We recently became aware of the potential unauthorised access of the mailboxes of two of our employees.
Upon discovery of this we immediately took steps to prevent any further unauthorised access of the mailboxes. It is possible however, that personal information of certain individuals contained in the mailbox may have been accessed, including some individual’s names, email addresses and other personal information. We have no evidence though, to suggest this has occurred.
We have already directly contacted those individuals who we think may be at a higher risk of being compromised as a result of this incident.
Out of an abundance of caution, we suggest that anyone who has been in recent contact with the Centre for Non-Violence:
- Be alert to any unusual requests from organisations, including the Centre for Non-Violence, by email, telephone call or post, for example payment requests or asking for bank details; and
- Avoid opening attachments or clicking on links to access documents that they have recently received by email that appear to be suspicious, particularly any attachments that they were not expecting to receive.
We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please contact the Centre for Non-Violence Inc. via phone on (03) 5430 3090, via email at email@example.com or via post at P.O Box 958, Bendigo 3552.
