Some organisations and services are legally required to share information about individuals at risk of family violence. The Centre for Non-Violence has key responsibilities to share information in relation to Family Violence Information Sharing (FVISS) Child Information Sharing (CIS).

The Centre for Non-Violence is an Information Sharing Entity (ISE) and a Risk Assessment Entity (RAE). This means we have legal obligations under the Family Violence Act 2009 about the sharing of information to manage and assess family violence risk. Where there is a person using violence or an alleged person, we can request information from other ISE services to assess risk, and they are legally obliged to provide it.

Centre for Non-Violence also has legal obligations to share information about the wellbeing of children.
